4.  Editing Content

Wow, you just created your first ad!  Now, you can view it by clicking the letter ‘V’ under the View column (second from the right).  An Ad Viewer window pops up with a solid black screen and then … after 2 seconds or so … your ad appears using its Transition Style to replace the black screen.

Use a mouse click to exit the Ad Viewer and return to the Content Summary.

NOTE:  You can sort the Content Summary table by simply clicking on the blue table headings including: Title, Start Date, Start Time, and Ad Seq (short for Ad Sequence).

In the table, you see an entry for the ad you just created.  Click on the ad title name (“demo1-1” in the example) to review your ad settings.

Click on the Back button after completing your review and you are back at the ‘Content Summary’ tab.

The last five table columns are functions you can use to manage your ads - E for Edit, D for Delete, A or S for Activate or Suspend and is a toggle between the two, V for View, and “up and down arrows” for Inserting an Ad above or below another ad.

Go ahead now and click on ‘E’ to edit the ad. You can edit all the available fields including uploading a replacement image for the ad.  You upload the replacement image by clicking on the ‘Browse’ button.  Choose another ‘Transition Style’ from the drop down menu, and then click on the ‘Submit’ button.

Now, you are once again back at the ‘Content Summary’ page.  Click on ‘V’ to view the new image and transition effect you just updated.

You can go back and forth between ‘E’ and ‘V’ to try out the rest of the Transition Styles.

5.  Creating Two More Ads to Complete an Ad Campaign

Now click on the down arrow button to insert a new ad below the previous one. We will also use ‘iText’ as the ad type by clicking on the ‘iText’ sub-tab. Enter ‘demo1-2’ as the ad title. The rest of the fields are all the same as the first ad except for the following:

In ‘Text Message’, enter the following text:

Fantastic Fall Sweaters

Blazers Are Always A Classic

Double V Knit Tunic $48

Banded Batwing Top $39

In ‘Font Color’, enter #61616d.

In ‘Upload File’, select demo1-2.jpg from the Browse window.

Click the ‘Submit’ button and you will be prompted when the uploaded is finished. You can now see the second new ad you just created by click on the ‘V’ in the ‘Content Summary’ page.

Your second new ad should look like this:

Now, let’s put in the third ad. Click the down arrow button of the second ad to add a third ad below the second. Click on the ‘iText’ sub-tab. Enter ‘demo1-3’ as the ad title. The rest of the fields are all the same as the first and second ad except for the following:

In ‘Text Message’, enter the following text:

Turn Up The Heat In Fabulous Fur

Sleeve Fur Jacket $89

Cropped Fur Bolero $54

In ‘Font Color’, enter #57433b.

In ‘Upload File’, select demo1-3.jpg from the Browse window.

Click the ‘Submit’ button and you will be prompted when the uploaded is finished. You can now see the third ad you just created by click on the ‘V’ in the ‘Content Summary’ page.

6. Editing and Viewing to Fine Tune Ads

Now you have three ads in the table. You can click on the ‘V’ of the any of the ads to view the result. Go back and forth between ‘E’ and ‘V’ to try out different font type, colors and transition styles to fine tune the look and feel of the ads. You can click on the ‘Test Run Content’ button underneath the content summary table if you want to view content that is schedule to play in the future. Enter the date and time that you want to test run your ads. By default, the start date and time is set to current date and time.

7.  Playing Content

Now you can playback the ads you just created. But first, you need to confirm two things.

* ‘Ac or Su’ is set to A

You need to check if the ads you want to display are activated. In the Content Summary table, there is a column with title ‘Ac or Su’. This allows you to activate or suspend individual ad. You can activate some ads and suspend others. Click on the ‘A’ or ‘S’ to activate or suspend the ad, this action acts like a toggle switch. You need to activate all the ads if you want to publish them all.

* scheduled dates and times

You want to ensure that the ads are scheduled on the actual dates and times that you intended.  For example, if you unchecked Thursday in an ad, you won’t see this ad on Thursday.  If an ad is scheduled to play only between 5pm to 7pm, you won’t see the ad if the time is not between 5pm to 7pm.  The software detects the date and time of the computer you use to play the content and determine if an ad should be played at that time.

8. Selecting Display Mode

To access the final content display utility, click on the link provided at the bottom of the Content Summary page. There are 4 different modes you can choose from – Turnkey, Desktop, PlayNow and Manual, depending on how you want to setup the content playback.

** IMPORTANT In all cases, make sure you remember to press the Alt and the F4 keys together to terminate content display.

Turnkey Mode: When you click on the Turnkey Mode, a batch file named myadtv.bat is placed in the Start Up folder. The batch file contains a simple command line that starts the Internet Explorer browser in full screen mode and runs the ad-player application from the server. The command line parses your player account logon name and its password so that the server can authenticate the account and download the content to your computer for display. When you first power on your computer, the turnkey mode will start playing the content automatically without any user input. If you have programs that require user input during start up, you need to disable them.

Desktop Mode: When you click on the Desktop Mode, a icon with the name myadtv.bat is placed on your desktop screen. To start the display, click on the icon. You can start the display any time without logging into your account.

PayNow Mode: When you click on the PlayNow Mode, the content starts to play without installing the batch file on your computer. You will have to login to your account to initiate the PlayNow Mode.

Manual Mode: Manual mode allows you to start the content display without running the batch file. Follow the instructions under Manual Mode on the Final Content Display page. You need to use the Run utility provided in the Start menu as shown below:

Click on the Start menu in the lower left corner of your screen.

Click on the second to last icon on the right hand side named ‘Run’. You will see the Run dialog box appear at the lower left corner of your screen.

In the Open field, copy and paste the command line provided in the Final Content Display page (one single line):

After you’ve entered the command in the Run dialog box, click the ‘OK’ button. This will display your ads in full screen without any browser frame.

Please note that if you are subscribing to the ‘Starter Package’, a MyAdTV Ad will be displayed on your screen for 15 seconds every 15 minutes. If you do not want the MyAdTV ad to appear on your screen, simply upgrade your player (display location) account to either Standard or Professional.

You have now completed the first content creation exercise!
